Hey there! I'm Kenny, a queer, self taught artist living in Ontario, Canada. I grew up in the woods, so I tend to take inspiration from creatures and wilderness. Anthro characters are my main focus, especially unique and uncommon species. I've always had a fascination with animals, mythology and other fantasy creatures, so I try to incorporate that into my work wherever possible. My goal is to balance rustic and mystical themes to invoke feelings of nostalgia, whimsy and comfort.

Sample Price Points for Reference

Simple Commissions

These are typically shaded simply, with a solid, gradient or patterned background. Cel-shading or detailed texturing is available for an extra charge, which will depend on the character/project.

Complex Commissions

Your choice of a fully rendered cel shaded illustration, or a lineless, painterly style piece. Either option comes with a high level of detail and texture. If neither is specified/you have no preference, I will use my own discretion to choose the most fitting style for the piece!

Reference Sheets

Every reference sheet comes with two poses, a headshot, nametag, text details, and a palette.
Reference sheets will NOT be shaded.

Experimental/Name your Price

What you make of it! I will work with your concept or art prompt on any budget you give me. This allows me the artistic freedom without restricting it to the categories outlined previously. Depending on the amount paid, you will receive anything from a quick doodle to a fully rendered illustration of a character in a detailed environment. Great if you like to be surprised with the final product. Or if you want art of a character, but you're not sure what. For projects under $85: no work in progress shots will be provided unless you ask! I will invoice you first, then contact you with the completed artwork. Anything over $85 will need to be approved at the sketch stage, like other commissions. Please contact me if you have any questions :)

Overview

If you contact me for a commission, I will assume you have read this document in advance as the link is readily available in all of my online profiles! Failure to follow the terms may result in termination of the current commission and blacklisting from future projects or commission opportunities. The artwork created by "Bleatley" is unavailable for commercial use, and is intended for individuals who wish to use the finished product for PERSONAL use. Reference Policy

Please have either a complete character reference sheet and/or a set of referential images handy for me. I can work without them, but I am a visual person and it saves me a lot of time when you provide either realistic/photographic references, or even crude sketches of the image in your mind. I really appreciate it when you get involved in the art process with me!
Written references are appropriate for REFERENCE SHEET or CHARACTER DESIGN commissions if there are no visual alternatives. There may be additional charges for working from text reference outside of those commission types. Please keep your text well-organized and with sufficient detail for me to work off of, without being overly poetic.An example of not enough detail would be; “The character has brown hair.” Okay, brown. What about the length/shade/texture?
An example of proper detail would be; “The character has wavy brown hair that reaches the nape of her neck, with fringe bangs. The hair has blonde highlights.”
An example of too much detail would be; “The character has hair like a cascading auburn waterfall, tinged with fiery star-white streaks.”Reference Sheets:
Please list all the information you would like included on the reference sheet before I start the sketch. I often forget to ask, and knowing what the text will look like helps me block out the sheet layout while I draw. Here’s a couple samples (you can add way more or less detail --whatever feels right for you and your character!):Name: Joey

Payment & Refund Policy

All prices are listed in USD. Payment will be handled either in USD/CAD through PayPal or Stripe. A small amount may be added to your total to offset processing fees.Please discuss payments in canadian currency BEFORE I send an invoice, and refer to the current currency conversion rates before paying with CAD as my prices are listed in USD. I do not accept “points” or any other website-based currency. I can also offer interac for other canadians.Payment is required in full upon completion and your approval of the sketch. I will send you an invoice when I am given the go-ahead to begin lining and coloring the rest of the artwork. If you would like to send a tip, please send the payment to Bleatley@gmail.com through PayPal. Please do not use the mobile application to send money. If you use the “send money” option on PayPal for any reason, please select “No Address Needed.” And “digital goods/services” (where applicable). This is important: nothing will be shipped to you.Do NOT write anything in the descrption.
Do NOT send the money as a gift.I do not give refunds unless I am unable to complete your commission. If you cancel halfway through a commission, you will be black listed and I may not work with you again. Please be certain you wish to commission me! If I am unable to complete a commission that has been started, I will give you what has been completed of the art as well as %50 of the total price. Please do not send a payment before the sketch has been complete.**As of January 2022, I am offering Stripe invoicing as an alternative to Paypal.

Usage Rights

I reserve the right to refuse any commission or request, or to stop working on any commission or request, at any time. If you cease communications with me during a commission or do not provide adequate information/resources upon my request, I reserve the right to halt all work on an outstanding project.I reserve the right to use any works I complete as material for future advertisements for my own services and in my own personal work portfolios. If you want me to refrain from posting the artwork before a certain date, or at all, there may be an additional charge.I also reserve the right to post works I complete on my own art galleries or pages. With this in mind, I will respect any requests for a work to not be made public, to be withheld from the public until a certain date (eg: surprise gift art! wee), or to keep the identity of the commissioner confidential (if specified).The commissioner, and only the commissioner, has the right to utilize purchased works as they see fit, provided that utilization is not in a monetized capacity and that full credit is given to me for the creation of the art.**Do not mint any of my art as an NFT for any reason, even if you bought or commissioned it from me.Do not claim any of my art as something you made yourself. Please credit /link back to me when reposting or using my bases. Please credit me as the original designer of characters you buy from previous owners.

Process, Revisions & Updates

Corrections: minor tweaks (i.e., changing markings/colors, resizing or moving elements) can be made at any time before finalizing the piece at no extra charge (within reason). Major corrections (i.e., changing the pose of a character, adding additional anatomical features, changing species or major facial features) can only be requested during the rough sketch stage. Additional revisions start at $5/each, and may increase in price depending on the complexity of the edit.

My art Queue trello board shows my availability and what projects I'm working on at any given moment. You can use it to track the status of your commission.

Regarding updates: Work-in-progress updates are available upon request, but within reason. By default I will offer a Work in progress image at the end of every major stage of the commission (rough sketch, Ink + flat colors, shading). Depending on my workload, you can expect to hear from me every 3-5 days for basic projects. Please do not ask for an update every day. Due to their nature, some speed paintings or wing-it style commissions will be completed with no in between updates at all.
